Would have showered you with rose petals
For the rest of time,
Just to let you know
That you were on my mind.
Would have given you my heart
Each and every beat,
Just to feel your passion
And your body's heat.
Would have cried you an ocean
Of infinite tears,
To let you know losing you
Was my biggest fear.
Would have given you my life
So you could go on,
But I guess that notion
Is dead and gone.

For the rose petals that shower you
Are from a flower who's dying,
And a man's soul
Which inside is loudly crying.
The heart you were then given
Now beats no more,
A bitter chill sets in my soul
From beyond this closed door.
The ocean that I cry
As of now is in vain,
Tears of my solitude
My sadness and my pain.
My life indeed I gave you
And look, you went on,
But don't look back again
For next time, I'll be gone.

Beautiful and sad sentiments. Alas it is better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all. Somewhere, sometime you will find one who will cherish the love you have to give.

Jeremy,
wow, what a poem! I'm sorry it took me a bit to come read it, but I'm very glad I did!! There will come someone in your life that will be able to understand the love which you are so very capable of giving, and she will return it 3 fold dear! Just keep your hope up, and keep writing wonderful poetry!
hugs and love,
Cyndey

This was outstanding, the flow was perfect.  A great piece showing that sometimes no matter what we do...when it's not right....there's nothing we could ever do that would be "enough".

Okay yeah I went digging into the past a lil.  And OMG  this one makes the tears flow heavily.  This has got to be the most beautiful poem I have read in a long time.

Would have showered you with rose petals
For the rest of time,
Just to let you know
That you were on my mind.

Great work here, Jeremy!! Now where's that ring???    haha
