I live by a guarded castle One with towering walls The waters surround it Dark and deep I can not get beyond your stronghold No life I find within this hardened mass What has fixed this stone so rigid? Desperately I search for some warmth A light that will melt it's frozen gaze Nothing stirs Nothing will breathe Why have you locked this door and thrown away the key? What will melt this icy thorn lodged so deeply? This frigidness chills me to the bone Lying in a pool of death Naked now amongst the light of day. I find no refuge here In your guarded castle [This message has been edited by Illusion (edited 09-20-2000).] |

I have often written sad poetry as a way of unloading my emotions. I hope that writing helps you in the same way. Sometimes when I write I feel as though nothing else matters but the words on the page. Write for life! |

Wonderfully done. This poem is filled with so much emotion. "Lying in a pool of death Naked from the light of day." So sad, but so beautiful. Keep it up ![]() EVEN ANGELS FALL. |
