A Knights Love for his Lady by Just a Heart Wing His Quest was to Please her Eye.. as she pleased his soul.. to set her as his Queen.. as she was.. Hart Island was foundation to her castle.. Made of saltry stone.. where cherubs hovered the ceilings.. sighing grace & peace upon her Heart.. the halls & walls stood strong.. to protect.. to keep.. as safe as her love.. could possibly be kept.. but all the love.. that bled from these walls.. could not save the life of his one Love.. she was ripped from his days.. lost to his nights.. only a lonliness left to him now.. even his tears were no longer found in these great walls of grey stone.. no echos of passion.. sighed from its glory.. no warmth flowed from its fires.. just the chill of the ocean .. the crash of the icy waves.. carrying him deep within himself.. lost to all.. as he is lost to Love now.. |

you show that middle age chivalry provides a great metaphor for lost love. i really enjoyed the story, and its written really well. this one deserves many replies. ilph |

Awww... such a beautiful poem! Lovely... but sad too. ~ Tara ~ "A poem should not mean, but be" - Archibald MacLeish |
