The Shores of Alone

Slipping ever so slightly over the edge,
she has seen too much.
Her heart, though strong
cracks around the center.
She can't quite take it anymore.
Betrayals, too many to count,
are taking their toll.
She can barely carry on.
It started six years ago
when her lover left.
A tormented year later,
she ran from the pain.
Ran straight into the arms
of the man from hell.
Her original pain pales beside today.
She's leaving him now,
the one who was going to save her,
the one who has abused her for five years.
She has two children,
she is crushed, lonely and pregnant.
No one to turn to,
no one to love.
She tries;
she gathers the broken pieces of her heart
and patches them as best she can.
Her girls need her-she is all they have.
She needs someone too...
She tries;
she keeps getting up in the morning
though she's not sure why.
She loves her children, she triesto make up for their father.
She cooks, she cleans, she tries
to make the two ends meet.
They are impossibly far apart.
She tries to remember
how to be happy.
Late at night, every night
she stares at the wall.
Tears silently falling
she asks why.
She begs for help
and no one answers...

Yes catalina, try to get her to write, you know how much it has helped you as it has helped us, Then post it under your name, for her, let her read all the responses. we will turn out for her to just except her as is, to hear her vent her worries her fears, to put it out will give her more than she could ever buy on the out side. Try it.
love ya kid.

All of us with children can relate so completely to your cries of despair.  Your girl is a strong and compassionate woman, and in time, she will find the life that you want for her so desperately, and your heart will be content.  Her past mistakes are just that...past.  Each new day is the promise of future healing.  It just doesn't come fast enough.  As long as she has you, she will be ok.

As a parent I can well relate to the pain and frustration of such a situation. Take care!
