One has to make a good first impression in the place
Where you can be shot if you read
Or possess of any sort of intellect.
Of course, they're all just a load of fools in need
Of some sort of comfort for lives now wrecked.
This is all fine, and it works to help you
Explain away the madness.
But then when you try to excercise your rights,
You find yourself plunged into humiliation and sadness,
For all around are simple-minded animals bent on engaging in fights.

Yeah people are like animals, the always follow a leader to make the,selves feel bigger than they are.
that was a great interpetation(I can't spell so bare with me) of school.

The title of this one is what caught my eye. And I am glad that I read it.

But what if that 1st good impression isnt good??Then you will be the outcast throughout all your years in that one school.

I think we all have been an outcast. We have our own ways of doing it even if we dont think we are.

this was a GREAT poem. see im in high school now and im one of the "wierd" people, you know, piercings and stuff. and i say how i feel all the time, alway getting criticized by people. high school is an aweful place when you try to be yourself. thanks for writing this

im sure a lot of people can relate

I must agree that knowledge has a tendence to be looked over...though that doesn't happen over at my school. You have to maintain a GPA in order to stay in this school.
