Dysfunctional Mommy yells at daddy Daddy yells at mommy Mommy runs in her room and cries Daddy goes out for a drive Mommy yells at me Mommy yells at sister Then mommy hits her Sister runs in her room I am already there Try to block it out Daddy comes home and starts to shout I bravely walk out and tell daddy He is scaring sister He tells me I’m in trouble Then he comes after me Into my room I flee Hide with my dolls I am still not safe Daddy comes through the door Hits me until I’m on the floor Between tears I tell him please stop He is hurting me Sister is crying on her bed This isn’t what I wanted Daddy asks me if I learned my lesson I answer yes, but I don’t know what I did Daddy goes away for now In trouble I’ll get in somehow Then daddy will be back And then again I’ll feel his wrath For everyone's information this is about my childhood. |

I weep for the scared little girl locked up inside you..may she find gentle love and compassion the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

darkstar, I'm real sorry you had that childhood... I hope you find inner peace one day, but in saying that, I do understand the scars will be there forever, I guess nothing can sorta take those feelings away - but writing does help. Take care. ~ Tara ~ "A poem should not mean, but be" - Archibald MacLeish |
