*Since I was a little girl I have been facinated by Judy Garland. Her life is a great tragedy* ~THE LEGEND OF JUDY~ Oh, sweet Francis Ethel Gumm what have they done to you? "America's sweetheart" you were crowned, the little girl with the big voice, so fresh, so talented and new, you sang your way into the hearts of millions molded into the greatest movie star of the silver screen and the most glamourous beauty queen They made you change your name, your style, your hair and your body to become their prize possession, A Star Was Born - Judy Garland Lights! Camera! Action! You clicked your red ruby slippers travelling to the Wizard Of Oz, to the land of Broadway in Ziegfeld Follies and your audience met you in St. Louis too, but, all of your beauty and success could never end the pain in you All of your friends and mentors at MGM Studios silenced you with their pills and lies, those which lead you over the rainbow sent you over the edge down the yellow brick road of depression forcing you to smile that captivating smile to disguise Oh Judy, what have they done? You were exploited by them all, forced to live many lifes in just one, you gave the world laughter, music and entertainment, but, your final reward was heartache and tears, you were used and abused and then carelessly tossed aside In your final act on the world's stage at only age forty-seven, fame and pressure brought on your great fall as you lay on an old bathroom floor a fragile corpse from an overdose of sleeping pills, where once a legend stood tall You shall always remain the unforgettable Judy Garland still adored and mourned to this day, you died of a broken heart trying to find your way back home, a tale of Dorothy that's sadly true, oh, sweet Francis Ethel Gumm what have they done to you? *By Melissa Honeybee* The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams |

Melissa...I couldn't agree more..a sad commentary on the steamy side of the entertainment business..Like you, I will always remember the great one. May she be Over the Rainbow and at peace. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

it is truly sad, what they did to those "stars", they cared nothing for them as people, only how many bucks they could bring in..... thank you for sharing, made me think! (*S* bj ~the breath, a mystery of it's own ~~ |
