This is a sequel to an earlier posting of mine titled A TEMPLE PRAYER The Goddess Falls Sitting here depressed again, Wondering where we went wrong. After our love seemed lost, We replaced it with friendship. But now that too seems gone, Replaced by a cold indifference. Deciscions seem to have been made That now have changed us forever. So I enter The Temple again, One final visit to redeem myself. Here to tear down The Temple And free myself once and for all. Destroy the alter of love As my heart was destroyed, Topple the symbols of faith, Like my faith in us was tossed down. Burn the oaths of loyalty, Just as my soul has been burned. Tear out your throne, The same way my heart has been torn out. Flip over your pedestal, The way my world has been flipped around. Now I sit here alone Among the ruins of The Temple, Finally breaking the shackles That made a man a slave. A slave to a goddess of love Whose love I feel no more. The wounds will take time to heal, But the scars will forever remain. As I walk through the wreckage I wonder if I'll ever understand. Closing the door behind me I decide, And my descision is final. With a tear in my eye I leave The Temple forever. A free man finally, Who will bow to The Goddess no more. Look back at your past, but don't stare too long. You might not like what you find |

you have described so well the efforts we all must take when one leaves our heart in disrepair and we discover the love was fake...James |

Very well written...I like this so much. The broken faith, the lost love, the decision to go on...WOW...Good read. Just remember time heals all wounds...some take a long time to heal, some heal quickly...but eventually they all heal.
