There are so many injustices in this world,
I'd never list them all,
Passions could never be big enough,
Perhaps I've found another after all!! LOL

People that think they are doing something for your good,
They are doing it for themselves,
Perhaps protecting themselves,
From a reality they'd rather not see.

Knowing my purpose,
Yet powerless to pursue it,
Knowing people may not think what they say,
How to get through it?

Seeing others in pain,
Yet powerless to help,
My words to them empty,
Back up on the shelf.

Starving people,
Homeless people,
People alone,
People insane.

War, fighting, religions, politics and rape,
Too much too battle,
Too weak to escape,
This earthly life indeed a battle!

Prejudiced, opinionated people,
Make the battle harder,
For me, for them and for you,
Some many injustices what can we do?

Talking helps, makes more aware,
But that is not enough,
It must start with each of us,
Like diamonds in the rough.

Don't be too opinionated,
Too quick to judge another,
Send out peace and understanding,
Do not be the first to condemn or throw a stone at our sister or brother.

See?  I can't solve this problem either,
Don't seem to make a difference,
But I'm damned if I'll sit back and do nothing,
I damn well have to try to stop injustice!!

Isis~~~Maybe one day God will give us all our own magic lamp with a genie inside. Then we could make the world as we want it to appear. The one thing about this world that I would change is racism. Thats one thing that going to a public school made me realize it needs to change. But anyways I really like the way that you wrote this poem! Sorry I went on and on.

Jess hon if I knew I'd have saved the world already!!!  But it must start small with each of us, stand up and fight the injustices 'we' see, that is a small start.  Then, others me see and follow suit....
I wish I knew the answer Jess, thanks for reading..

well if it starts with each of us, then i see no reason why i cant start right now!
i also think the injustices in this world are too much to handle..but we have to figure out a way...i dont want people to suffer! you have a very wide open heart, big enough to embrace the world....im learning much from you.

Yes , Isis! Couldn't agree with you more. I've spent a lot of time thinking what can I do a one individual that can make a difference? I always came to a conclusion that I myself would probably fail in trying to make a difference but still can't except the thought of just doing nothing!
Great poem!

Thanks PP that is quite a compliment, it's nice to know I get other people thinking how they can better themselves and their little piece of this world.
Thanks LM

Isis,
I had a magic wand once, but it broke the first time I used it. However your poem has shown that one person can make a difference, we may only make small ripples in the pond where we live, they are ripples none the less and do make a difference.
Be well

I have always thought that I could make a difference. At least, that is what I grew up thinking. For some reason, when you reach adult status, things begin to change and you think I am only one person and I have too much to do in my life as it is.
Well...just because of your poem, Isis...I am going to DO SOMETHING today. I don't know what yet, but its only six am, so I have time to figure it our.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a selfish person by any means, but today I will go the extra mile because your words have inspired me to do so. I'll let you know later what exactly I did.
  Great poem, Isis, Thank you!!!!

Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

Sonjes thankyou!    What a compliment to know my words truly inspired you to go that little further, try that little harder, or sprinkle your compassion on your little part of this world, is great news!!  Thanks so much!!
James, thanks hon, it starts small, but if we all do it, everyday the differences will be seen, not only in our lives, but the lives of those around us.

Isis, your bright light is shining as I expected, you have a special gift, which can help people see the differences, even the smallest ones, that can change the world we live in. Don't ever forget that. I try to brighten someones day every chance I can. we're all here just once in this form, let's all do the best we can for each other. if I can make just one person smile, and that was my sole purpose here, then I'm satisfied...beautiful words you say here...I have faith in you and you proved me right.
