Rain by J.Sage (autumn 1999) protected by copyright Drizzle down sweet rain My love You know me too well When I try to be you In a basement somewhere else I smell you Somewhere else where flowers drown You dwell Clean my spirit, echo my hearts cry So silent ,so simple, so clean Not like me, loud misery Unlike me, you're sweet When I try to be you You let me weep Pillow drizzle I drink and spill my wine You helped me cry On the nights I tried to die Sweet soulful pitter-patter You must love me Blood and tears on my lips You bathe me in cool serenity You help me remember sanity I think you might know me too well The way the dying flowers love your smell The way the rain can speak words it never knew I understood On a cold doorstep she understood In my blood she understood Sometimes you know me too well When I try to be you Sweet silent friend Sometimes I need you |

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, spitfire. That was a huge compliment. This was one of the only few (maybe 2or 3) poems written in the midst of a 2 year writer's block. This poem wrote itself... and then I read it and was like... that came out of me? What you wrote means a lot to me thank you. -Jes |
