Take back your life, The quiet nights, Cut like a million knifes, In the back of my mind, I can’t sleep until, I hear you breath again, Seven years of darkness, I can’t wait for the day, We’ll play once more, Flares still burn… …in my mind, Yellow and white lines, Chime the end of life, Hardly begun, Unjustly ended. I strive to get on with life, But the lifeless corpse, Still washes up on the shore, Of my mind. This loss, I can’t override, Let this be a lesson to you, Don’t drink and drive. ------------------------------- This is for my cousin Crystal, I don’t think I have to say anything about what happened, it’s pretty damned obvious. You are all very respectable people, but I hope this poem is one more nagging voice in your head stopping you from driving drunk. ---------------------- Spreading insanity, one post at a time “Writing about darkness comes easily for me. "The lifeless corpse still washes up on the shore of my mind" such a haunting poem. This is truly a revelation... to see your pain in such a pure way... I hope this opens peoples' minds, and they do what is right. Thank you for sharing this. warm ((HUGS)) "I've fallen asleep, slept so sound. Fallen so fast, I missed the ground" ~Lil OnE~ |

The childhood I should have had was stolen from me by a drunk driver. My mother was paralyzed in an accident. She never was able to cope with the loss of never being able to walk again. So she made a choice to give me and my brothers up for adoption. She only lived a few more years after that. I have been told she died of a broken heart. I never drink and drive...and I never let my friends do it either. When we go out...I am the designated driver. Dee "It doesn't matter who you love, or how you love, but that you love" Rod McKuen |

chansondegeste: Thanks for your agreement. I wish more poeple could see the adverse effects of this. Lil OnE: Thanks for your offer. But i am well passed the point of hugs. Broken_Heart: haha, actaully it's Deranger, but i don't care about that, I'm sorry we have that in common. Dedreia: I wish more people were as smart as you. I'm sorry about your mother. That is a hard way to learn. Thanks everyone. |

I agree with the others, too true. The sad thing is that people are usually drunk when they decide to drive drunk, if you know what I mean. A friend of mine almost killed himself like that, but did he learn his lesson? Unfortunately the answer is: NO. Let's hope he is the odd one out and that the rest of us are sensible in this matter. BTW, big ((((((((hugs)))))))) from me, even if you don't want them Oh, I almost forgot: great poem, Deranged Deranger Lotharingia "Dreams are life, reality, creation" Miguel de Unanumo |

Dear Deranged, Deranger, I loved your poem but the moral cuts a little close to the quick for me. My sister was involved in an accident with a drunk driver. Sometimes you die. Sometimes unfortunately you don't. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Wonderful message and reminder here hon! I never have and never will dd and I hope those that do, read this, and think twice next time. Some I fear, will never learn until such a loss happens to them or someone they know. It means a lot to me that you have all responded to this. Catalinamoon: Yeah, it’s a good message, just so many people are deaf to it and so many like it. LM: Thanks. Lotharingia: I am convinced that no one ever listens to advice or learns a lesson. We are creatures of habit, unfortunately. Kethry: There are so many things worst then death. I am sorry your sister has to be a victim of one such thing. Life’s a ***** sometimes, isn’t it? jmlee12345: Strong perhaps, but overlooked and ignored all the same. Thanks. Isis: I fear, you are right. ---------------------- Spreading insanity, one post at a time “Writing about darkness comes easily for me. I just close my eyes and write what I |
