Breathing Exercise

A cleansing breath deep,
laced with anxiety,
its effervescence stirring,
the air about me
intense.

Attempting calm, a focused
exhalation to quell foreboding
yet I cannot contain the ebullition
of sensibilities that threaten
to burn the backs of each eye.

I abandon the exercise.

Instead, to my quivering throat,
a hum, my tranquility,
Spread your wings and
fly, Butterfly

but the creature fells its
translucency in flight.
I cannot rescue it
from wind's wrong as
through my palms
it slips,

and falls.
It falls;
low in my womb
rises uneasiness.

A cleansing breath,

A cleansing breath
to slumber sound

is my wish.
