The poetry in me is silent
because of all my pain
yet I know that one day soon
I'll rise and soar again
and string the words together
shining like new rain.
The poetry in me is sleeping
but it will fly again.

The poetry in me is sleeping
a coma true and strong
the hurt I've suffered caused
it to withdraw and slide along,
the paths within my mind
far from the madding throng
the poetry in me in darkness
will soon burst into song.

The poetry in me in darkness
will soon seek out the light
burst forth in gay abandon
banishing all dark night
and then to hear the angel's song
will be my one delight
when my poetry in comeliness
has won the victor's fight.

The poetry in me is silent
there is no need for talk
when  friends share their thoughts
while beside me gently walk
and remind me of the poetry
they see within my stalk
and wait for spring to bloom again
with comely voice as vaccined salk.

"It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures;
but it is the loss that shapes the image,
gathers the flowers weaves the garland."-

will you stay in the sea forever

Woooohaaaaa!
It's so great! Poetry in you is sleeping? You have to got be kidding! How does it sound when it's awake then?
Very beautifully written, I can't even describe how thoroughly I enjoyed this piece...

Dawn - thank you for your words of encouragement which are always timely

LM - this is what I call a craft poem. it doesn't flow and it took a lot of twisting to come out. My art poems are much smoother I think. But I rave.

Why thank you Deepak. I'm so grateful for your encouraging words.

Keth,

this flows wonderfully. The poetry that sleeps in you is clearly dreaming beautiful things!

Kethry, you poetry is not sleeping it fully awake and screaming loud and clear. This was a powerful read, great poem, and yes words do help heal the pain but you have to want the pain to ease. Take care, peace

Brian, thanks for the comments. I agree about the pain but also know that sometimes the pain is better than the empty void of no feeling, beyond pain.

Delightful read, Kethry...I immersed myself in every syllable.

Keth, if the poetry was asleep, Id say it woke up roaring with this. Mine was asleep for almost 10 yrs till I found it again here.
Thanks for a great piece

LOTR,
sometimes my poetry sleeps - peacefully. Sometimes it claws its way through the barbed wire fences I build to still its voice. *laughs*
Thanks for the encouragement.

This is so true. I love the spark of hope, which is more than a spark. It's shines through the poetry, that I don't find to be so silent. This was really good! Keep up the great work, and continue to win your battle, because I think you can. Keep your head up!! ((HUGS))
