The Shores of Alone

Dedicated to Hardrock

A chance encounter, fateful day,
reading what each had to say.

She saw a kindred spirit here
someone who understood her fear.

He noted that she thought like him
she wrote of feelings, not of whim.

He took the time to be her friend,
he helped her broken heart to mend.

She wants to tell him what it means
to have a friend on whom to lean.

She hopes to make him happier
the same as he has done for her.

They share a multitude of things,
old music, poems, lifes painful sting.

So many thoughts conveyed through letters,
she hopes they will be friends forever.

Dear Cat~~I really don't mean to intrude, but I thought this was a bautiful sentiment. My best female friend passed away a few years ago. Your poem made me think of her and how dear a person she was, and always will be to Me....Thanks for the reflection.
Very nice poem.

Aaah kindred spirits, like Sven and myself!!  It is SOOOO nice to be able to share it all, including the old songs and movies etc.  It IS a wonderful gift and should be celebrated and tributed just as you have here Cat.  Great work.

what a wonderful tribute to a friend...I think it is so nice when people make friendships that bond like this...

Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

Sandra...how beautiful.  I love this, and it does remind me of someone I have come to love very much.  I don't know how I would have made it through my last heartbreak if not for him.  Keep writing this awesome stuff...Love Ya Girl...Dee
