No End In Sight Leave me here alone A junkie’s life is a story often told Without a happy ending most of the time Friends and family sit around and cry While I suffer through a battle With no end in sight 42 pounds lighter than I should be Guess that happens when a needle is all you eat So many scars on my body When I look in the mirror all I see is a rotting Figure of a man walking barefoot in a tunnel void of light Walking through tunnel with no end in sight I had a birthday a few days or weeks ago They invited me home, but I didn’t show Mother always welcomed god in her home But I lost my soul long ago Now I sit alone in my room every night Peering at old pictures with no end in sight Where does time go I don’t know, but it’s nothing more than life’s fools gold I think I want to stop But a man like me was never saved in detox A man like me was never saved at all I have to constantly fight, with no end in sight Death is never a cherished event But with a life like mine And a drug so unkind I hope it arrives without regret But it’s gonna be a while before my last rights Cause with this disease, there’s no end in sight |

~LenMcC1,...this is some heavy stuff. Some very real and raw writing. Not sure who??? if it's about you, but the point is,,,is that this poem could have come from some friends I have somehow lost...not necessarily death, but just lost THEM in general. It's pretty heartbreaking to go through it from this end and from the other must be 100 times tough. Whoever this is for,...may the strength I send out reach them. This is very good writing....it has effected me to say the least. Oh, and the title is like a fist in the gut. Take care. *Peace. |
