How long must I live in desperation?
How long must this pain remain?
How long must my heart desire so much
with nothing here to gain?

How long will these memories of suffering last?
How long will I search in darkness?
How long will I rely on myself for deliverance
and nothing more or less?

For now, I'll say my silent prayer.
For now, I'll just bow my head.
For now, I'll think of you,
and remember all you have said.

For now my silence is crucial,
For now my patience is a virtue.
For now, I turn in hopes of understanding,
and seek joy in my thoughts of you.

I turn to your strength,
I turn to your love.
I turn to hear your voice.
I turn and turn in circles, it seems,
and you are never there.

Never give your heart away, it will always come back broken.

How long, I wish I knew. I turn and turn in circles myself, and it hurts, and its not fair. But we have to go one, and keep looking for that little patch of light at the end of the tunnel somewhere. Take care.

Enjoyed this poem...Reminds me of songs "Never There" by Cake, and "She Not There" by the Zombies...James

Lil One-

I find it very emotional and true.

"How long must this pain remain
with nothing here to gain?"

Is a question that I ask myself time and time again. But I know there is not changing the pain but I can always look for the gain.  Remember stay strong and keep writting those poems and you'll find your gains.

Great poem thanks for sharing

Beautiful but sad... You've captured one sided love so well. It hurts, I know and you just can't do a thing about it coz you just can't put him out of your mind, and when you try there's such emtiness inside...
Hope you'll feel better!
