My life is like a desert, It plays tricks on me, In desert you see an oasis, In my life you see hope, As you come closer to an oasis, you realize it’s just a mirage, The oasis disappears like a trick, leaving behind nothing, same deal with my life, when I feel, I have reached hope, It runs away, millions of miles away, leaving me behind with a memory of it, which haunts my sleep, The hope that I once saw, has left me confused about myself, It has turned into a nightmare, which dares me to have faith, in god or in me, The nightmare, which dares me to, dream, dream, and the things I cannot achieve, because my faith has disappear, just like the mirage of the oasis in the desert, which is full of no hope, just like my life, which is also full of mirages. |

Xeonox, a true marage is a falsehood, but in fact a marage is a true ?? physical thing, it's just beyond the next horizon the heat reflects it's essence over hills, so in fact you do have hope it's just over the next hill. check it out. it's true. And put your hiking boots on. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

Wow, I'm sorry if you feel that hopeless. I have similar thoughts, but I push them away. A friend and I have a little thing we say to eachother all the time, when it feels hopeless "Keep the dream alive". I hope you will. Your writing is very touching. |

~Oh that title hurts. *sigh*,...well, I am going to cop out like this,...and simply say that Joel has just really hit it right on with what he has said...and yes, yes....we must make the trek. Keep fighting. Please take care. *Peace. |

Hope may well be a mirage, but the mirage serves its purpose. A thirsting man in the midst of vast desert will continue crawling to reach the oasis and quench his thirst. What he may find on his quest is at least as important, if not more so, than the end goal. Remember this, the mirage may not be real, but it is based on reality, the 'oasis' exists and not every sight of it is a mirage, eventually, if you keep crawling, you will find the real thing. Other than that, this was an excellent piece, could use a bit of editing for spelling and such, but I loved it. Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. Hope springs eternal.....and hope floats. But always take a necktie, just in case the Oasis has a dress code. Hardrock |
