Entombed in this meaningless burial chamber,
Hope a faded memory,
Laughter a long forgotten joy,
Blue eyes masked with amber.

This mausoleum I call my life,
A monument built for the light,
I live, and in a sense I died for it,
And now I've lost the fight.

Little glimpses, reminders of the happiness I seek,
Talisman adorn my world,
For it seems they are all I have to hold onto..
Now this crypt reeks of emotional dischord.

Friends peer in and quickly leave,
They don't wish to be caught in the mire too,
They offer a sacrifice to the fallen,
Then disappear for there is nothing they can do.

My burial chamber,
My home of unrest,
Too weak to conquer,
If put to the test.

Nothing to laugh about,
Nothing to look forward to,
Nothing to hope for,
What else am I meant to do?

My spirit flagging,
I grow weary of this arduous existance,
How many more punishments must one endure?
I've slowly lost my resistance.

So leave some flowers at this, my memorial,
Mourn the loving soul that has passed away,
Now it's merely a hollow shell,
And I have nothing more to say............

I like this depiction, Isis, especially the part about the friends who come and leave quickly so they don't have to absorb the misery. Sorry things are going like this for you now, but with your determination and loving heart, you will be ok. More than ok. I know that somehow.
Peace.
Sandra

Someone once told me to rejoyce when youve hit bottom, because the only way to go from there is up.
All im saying is to keep strong is all. Very nice poem as well.

No kid it can always get darker, I have seen it and you have to.
but that isn’t in the cards for you, you are a lighthouse in the storm kid, keep shining.
love ya,
Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
