We sat in secret sessions, trying to figure out a way to destroy the Opressive Rulers. We struck blows into whoever seemed most likely the enemy, but both Rulers Seemed equally savage and strange to us. We heard the terrifying cracks and shatters of china breaking apart. We tried to stop the fighting, but they never listened. None of us understood what they kept on fighting for. It soon became apparent that he was the enemy. My father became the one sole hatred of my youth. We plotted against him, fearing the worst. What would his next tactics be, now that he'd left the homeland? We feared he'd capture us and force us to stay in his own oppressive And Hellish Land. Devils struck the Homeland. We had to fall into the arms of the enemy. For months on end, we cried and screamed in the arms of who we thought was The Enemy. We attacked relentlessly, crushing his evil heart. But still, the devils came back and tore at our homeland. Would they never stop this? Finally, we hid behind a veil of mountains, in a land far away. We left the old land of happy times and oppressive memories, and embraced a New land. Now the enemy was growing hazier and hazier, until one day, when we Decided we'd visit him for the first time. We left there in tears, missing my father. But we cried ultimately because we knew that our enemy lurked within the Hearts of both my parents. And now, as I look back upon my life, I realize that black and white is as Painful and confusing as shades of gray. We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! |

This left me totally breathless.....literally..(I had to gasp several times as I read)\. I have never, and I do mean NEVER..... read anything so powerful to "ME" personally before. Thank you......thank you......thank YOU....for being so REAL and transparent! I love real people who share their real pain. Pain shared can heal.....pain hidden only brings on cancer. This was so wrenching.....yet so wonderfully displayed from your heart. I can never thank you enough for letting your gift shine, through your pain! |

Thank you for the compliments. This poem was a bit of an allegorical representation of my own experience with ny parents divorce. |

Yes, quite intense, and sad to know how much children end up hurt in adults mistakes.. Great writing. Catalinamoon Words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think. Lord Byron |
