This is dedicated to the latest catastrophe of the Russian nuclear submarine - "Kursk".
My prayers are with the crew, their families and everybody who's out there trying to help.

The submarine sank into depth
The ******* said - we need no help!
Like always, Russians are the best
Discretely tried to clean the mess
Instead of trying to save lives...
At home they're waiting - kids and wives!
While hundred mothers climbing walls
Death waits... Sharpenning it's claws.
Where is the reason? See no sence...
Don't think they really stand a chance
The Russian pride - what is it worth?
A hundred lives like candles burnt...
They oxygen will last for days
But I, I know their truthful claimes
There were explosions, water leaked
For days they've heard nobody speak.
It seems their lives gained no respect
For what a way he chose to act!?
To Sochy went, he needs a rest
He's on vacation - screw the rest!

I repair submarines at Pearl Harbor and I have daily contact with the submariners and they are watching the outcome of this...I have not seen the news today...my heart goes out to these men below the sea and their families and friends...God give them strength and courage and I join you in hoping for a rescue...thanks for sharing your concerns..James

I agree, this piece of news is bad news.
Pride is such a ridiculous emotion.
No better example than this.
When lives are lost because of it.

Excellent description of the situation. This is so sad, I fear there is no hope anymore. Another tragedy. Good to see people care here.

I, too, pray for my brother sailors and their families....your poem is closer to the truth than you realize.  Hardrock, HMCM (Hospitalman, Master Chief, US Navy Reserve)

Thanks everybody...
Divine: yes, sorry I used the bad word, but I was so MAD at Putin for turning down help...
If he asked for it sooner, maybe the British navy could have done something sooner, but he asked for it too late because of this pride he has and now they can arrive there only tomorrow and the others only by Sunday morning!

Hmm... yeah, read this earlier today, but didn't have time to respond...

Terrific outpouring of feelings... when I first heard about this I felt so for the people in that sub! How awful!  Good poem.

Thanks for the support Tara, James, Lotharingia, Cat and Hardrock
Though I really see no hope for those men I wish for the best end to this.
