hands torn by the roses you found he dozes to the silence of the ocean's eternal symphony Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

I liked this, I mean I really liked this, every time I read it I get something new! Kathleen "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace." Elizabeth Barrett Browning |

I wanted to pull this one back up again because it's so good. I loved it. If you read it through quickly, the "he" is the suitor. But if you look at it closely, the "you" might be also. perhaps he tore himself on the roses "you" placed there for him, and now he dozes in contentment? dreaming, even? Wonderful. I love poetry that's so wide open and yet so concise. |
