Terror In The Night Restless wind of daunting thoughts Shadows in shadows waiting to pounce Blackness surrounds Chilling sensations of feelings unrest Silent screams of unbearable distress No one’s around Defenseless against the night’s revenge Lonely solitude a mind on the edge Images abound Captured into a capsule of darkness Of terrifying scenes being harnessed The mind astounds Visions of phantoms fill the mind Feelings of someone lurking up behind Terror mounds A sigh of relief as dawn sets in Panic fades as the new day begins Tranquility is found [This message has been edited by kat (edited 08-12-2000).] |

Scary poem Kay, but I really liked the ending. It's comforting to me that with the dawn tranquility abounds. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

hehe, I know what you mean here. This poem reminds me of many times in my youth when I was scared of the dark. Very nice imagery here. Your diction is quite nice too. |

bubbles: Since you're not a big fan of poems that rhyme and the fact that you liked this one, I take that as a huge compliment. Thanks! cat: Thanks! I'm glad you like it! Kethry: Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks! darkstar: What are you talking about?? I get like that now!! Kidding! LOL I know what you mean. I also got like that. Glad you liked it. Thanks! insect: So you think Dark Passions has been waiting for me? I don't know about that insect. I have a feeling Dark Passions has been waiting for YOU! Now YOUR poetry is certainly dark alright. LOL I love them actually. Well I usually write about love and that kind of thing but I decided why not try something different. I took the bite and here it is! I'm glad you liked it! Thanks! Pickles in the jar? ALWAYS! LOL fractal: I'm glad it does. I remember times like that also. Glad you liked it! Thanks! I would have replied to all of your replies earlier but I couldn't find this poem to reply to till now. Thanks everyone! kat |

"Chilling sensations" you cause here indeed. Makes me think about being scared of the dark when i was a child. But, I was never scared of the dark inside...that was comforting, it was the dark outside that got to me and your poem just brought back one of the worst nightmares I have ever had. ![]() Ah well, the ending was brilliant though. ![]() Don't care what people say Just follow your own way Don't give up and use the chance To return to innocence. -Enigma |

sonjes: Well, I didn't mean to bring back one of the worst nightmares you ever had but maybe I'll take that as a compliment. ![]() ![]() kat |
