Sometimes you hit a low point when you want to run
                    away..
You know it won't be easy, but it's harder if you
                    stay..
Some morning when you wake up and you know the end
                   is near..
You realize your eyes are full of big ol' salty
                    tears..

It doesn't matter what you say, or even what you
                      do..
Time and Fate have changed your mate, and you're a
                 stranger, too..
There's no one there to share your love, or even
               share your fears..
No gentle hand will wipe away those big ol' salty
                    tears..

It's hard to live in silence and not dream of being
                     free..
There's nothing worse than looking back on how it
                  used to be..
To the time when your young hearts had plans for
                 future years..
You never thought you'd just be left with big ol'
                     salty
                    tears..

If hearts would only listen to what each other had
                    to say..
And one would let the partner grow in their own'
                  special way..
And if they truly listened, not just looked like
                they could hear..
How many eyes would cease to cry those big ol' salty
                    tears..

Nobody has the answer--You can stay or run
                    away..
But if you run, your ghosts will catch you down the
                 road someday..
And if you stay, the emptiness might fill up all
                   your years..
This indecision leaves you crying..

                   Big
                       Ol'
                          Salty
                                Tears.......

"Listen to your own heart
and listen to it well
then listen to the silent
tale
that your loved ones heart
will tell..."

This is a wonderful write and ohhh, so true...
thank you for reminding me that my love has tales as well...

Sunny, another superb depiction of the pain we feel, and the disappointment. I am so glad you have written here at DP,

Hi catalinamoon....

I should have come here to DP

Sunny1,
loved the rythym of your poetry, but I'm suddenly thinking of country music. Sorry.
Really liked the flow of it and the emotion.
Be well

Hi Cerenity....
               Ah...we share the same mind
               and thoughts...so we should
               become best of friends!!!
                  Good to see you here!

Hi Kethry....
              No need to apologize!! There
are a lot of cool things
              happening in Country today.
Actually, I was thinking of a
melody to put this to and get
              it ready for the country
              market......so, now I know it
              would fit in that genre.
                   Thank you my friend,
                    and for coming by,
                          also!!
