Bought some flowers last night to take to my dads' grave.
Born Aug. 10th, 1916 - died July 15th, 1976.
It's taken me 24 years to come to this spot, I got lost many times along the way.
I tried to align myself with what used to oversee him.
The trees, the freeway, there used to be a shed nearby.
I wandered about for about 2 hours, overwhelmed and crying a bit by how the grave stones of the Veterans had grown.
I never reached him.
It has taken me 24 years to come to this point in my life.
Never wanted to remember him here, only as alive and anywhere but here.
But my troubled heart has finally convinced me that I needed to talk to him.
Yesterday was also a friends birthday who meant much to me, I come here to talk to him also.
Because even though one of them is still alive, I cannot see him again.
I mourn 2 losses.
And today, again I will try to find his grave.
But fear I am running out of time,
but I never seem to run out of tears.
