The Shores of Alone

Legend speaks of love so grand
gentlemen who kiss your hand.

Open doors and walk outside
protect you from lifes' bumpy ride.

Place you on a tower, tall
Come and catch you when you fall.

Always strive to make you smile
vow to stay there for awhile.

Kisses sweet as apple wine
tender loving, so sublime.

The legend suffers in translation
you'll not receive his adulation.

He'll let you fall without a care
when you reach up, he won't be there.

His kisses will be harsh and greedy
leave you feeling slightly needy.

Legends, sadly, are not true.
You need to look for someone new...

Ouch. Why does this one have to be true? It's so sad to come to terms with.....
Great poem, Cat, it really touched me!

Cat,
You've done it again, you're a legend and not a paper hero at all.
Be well

Cat, firstly WONDERFUL poem, I am inclined to say one of your best, but then I practically always find myself thinking that.
But, keep the hopes high, there's always SOME truth in myths and fairy tales!
