The Journal of an Immortal I stumbled through the countless millennia, Alone and feared where ever I tread, Villages closed their shutters, Cities gates bared me, Mothers covered their children’s eyes to spare them my dread visage No one would dare befriend such a hideous creature, So I was cursed to endlessly wondering the land In search of something I could never find… Infinite life does not bring infinite sanity nor compassion The lonely years wore on my immortal soul, Dragging me deeper into the abyss of madness, Until one day, when I fell into complete discontrol The eternal Heavens wept, The burning Hells screamed, Neither Angel nor Demon was safe, And all Creation trembled before me! I destroyed city after city, thousands perished Mindless rage drove me to every last settlement Innocence was of no concern, children and criminals both felt my wraith I bathed in the blood of Angel and Demon alike, Nothing could stop me. Nothing dare try. I would never stop, not till the seas were as blood Not till the Heavens cried fire and the Hells froze, Years slid bloodily by, But I was stopped, not by Glory Angels or the Fell Demons, But by a single mortal child, who had the courage to fight me, Not with steel or sorcery, but with the simple desperation “Take me” She cried. “But spare my family!” Vanishing from that place, I stole away with the girl. She taught me about mortal lusts, About the female powers of creation, Rivaled only by the male power of destruction. She became my friend, later then my lover We lived in my dark abode, far outside the slipstream of time. After she died, I closed the gate to my abode. A million years have passed since that day I hear the warcries of Armageddon’s warriors, Bloodlust surges through my warped form, As I step into a world again plagued with suffering… ---------------------- Spreading insanity, one post at a time |

Deranger can I fall into discontrol with you. I think the journey would outweigh the destination.Loved the poem. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- Cole |
