the title speaks for itself

~the way things are~

love exists not.
not in me,
but in the child of an idol brain.
and there love is nourished
and treasured.
and there love stays until it has matured.
then love leaves,
and begins to push hate into love
and kills itself by hate
and hate makes love unworthy of peace.
and peace can no longer touch the loved hate
and love falls not in love
but in death from having known no peace.
then peace becomes war from having no love,
and therefore no love of peace.
and yet hate of war creates more war.
and not removed is hate and war,
but more seen is war and hate.
no love or peace ever create.
soon hate will die,
and war will end.
and love and peace will begin again.
and on and on this poor cycle go,
when it ends,
shall i never know.
for methinks
love is true and not.
but hate is not but oh so true.
for i feel as i do,
a love made for you.

Clever work here hon! Love and hate indeed exist in us all, it is the degree of each that matters. Love exists even in the devil himself, but to a minor degree.. Your love is there, it's just hiding at times

A little confusing the first time around... but yes all of those contradictions are kind of- not. And there has always been a fine line between love and hate. Strong emotion here.
