I wrote this for Nikolette Sadness whose prickly poems always touch me and sometimes make me cry.

Passions run deep though oft unnoticed
In the old and the very, very young
Fates conspire and the endless sleep
Leave thoughts unsaid on the tongue

The passion of love the passion of hate
And the course of life incomplete
The taste of love at the crest of life
makes dying even more sweet.

To love and to lose ere the passion is spent
Leaves the heart with a grievious joy
And life entwines the embrace of death
and makes a sustaining envoy
