© 2000 Christopher Ward Breathing shards of emptiness While choking on your lies. Questioning this part which hates, The past which slowly dies. Grieving ev’ry bond which breaks In tune with tainted blood. Pumped from heart-shaped, splintered stone, Bereaved; This cairn of love. My tower, tall and barren; Wretched, reeks no hope. Affliction crumbles down, From ‘top an angered slope: Of deceit, despair and hate- Glisten foul with pain. Your promises held… never, A dank and dirty stain. -So- When you’re basking 'neath regret, In courts of falling down; Know I lived through each damned day, Wearing your thorny crown.
