RENDEZVOUS with SWEET REPOSE |

Come to me, thou Slumber Sweet, When weariness my head doth meet From all the fleeting thoughts of Day, As they flash in their odd way! Greetings to thee, Lovely Maiden, Thou forever with Charms laiden- Who gently woos me from all pain, Pampers 'til my Strength's regained! SWEET REPOSE, true Friend, indeed, Whose very presence fills my need. Who comes without a jeering sigh, Nor suspicion's pressing, "Why?" She works in silence her fine Arts, Until her Magic she imparts With fond carress and watchful eye, While I in Oblivion fly! Sleep equates a communion, "Sweet Repose" enacts the union In an elusive Rendezvous, Where I'm gently swept from view To hide away from Life's swift road, To pause, unburdened from my load. A Way of life? By no means meant, But oh how sweet, those moments spent! [This message has been edited by deleeme (edited 06-20-2000).] |

Dear David; "Until her magic she imports with fond caress and watchful eye". This poem is exquisite and will be in the book, I'm sure. This is my all time favorite of yours, so incredibly lovely!!!! Love, Ellie |

You take sleep and dreams in an interesting direction. I love the part about sleeping to avoid "life's swift road" for a while. Cool phrase. Mike |

Thank you all for your kind remarks-God bless you all. Linda, I had to be told this myself--but it works. Go back to the poem you want to submit and push the edit button(the third icon from the left with a pencil on a sheet). Then scroll up toward the top and find the box for book submission. Then click -submit, and you will be in the running. I will be looking to read yours. (I hope this helps) David [This message has been edited by deleeme (edited 06-21-2000).] |
