Forever In Your Heart

"Breathe"
Where must I begin?
Deep within my heart,
For such a longing,
Is as to death,
Mourning and deep sorrow,
of pain,
No one understands me,
Who I truly am,
What I long to be,
desire hidden deep,
I am searching,
I am found,
My complication,
Has got me bewildered,
This quest,this life, this journey,
What does it offer?
Or what do I offer it?
How do we decide our paths?
Or does the path choose us?
Fate? Destiny?
Is there a time to go?
A time to wait?
I ponder deep thoughts,
But who will ponder them with me?
Am I to be a slave to life,
My spirit soars,
The wind blows,
I want to ride the breeze,
Where ever it must carry me,
Boring, mundane, repetitious,
Is not I,
For I have a soul separate,
Too many journeys await,
Must I hide me,
Or be free?
The rivers flow,
As the thoughts across my heart,
I want to live,
To BREATHE,
This person is me,
I have gave birth,
She is alive,
Her dreams roam,
Am I talking to paper?
Or talking to self?
Silence, silence,
Follow the rules,
Limits, boundaries,
These are the death of me,
Death of creation,
But what is to gain,
To smell the ocean,
close my eyes,
AND BREATHE,BREATHE...
Years held captive,
Desiring to come out,
Was it selfish?
Selfish is not abandonment,
Selfish she is to her own soul,
sometimes disgust,
For things she knows,
Things kept away from her,
Words, thoughts,all secrets kept,
But she knows, she knows...
Why must she talk to paper?
Is it that paper cannot talk back?
Paper understands, paper accepts,
So often said..If you love something,
Set it free,
If it loves you...it will come back,
Free, What is free?
Free to live? Free to love?
Free to be?
My mind ponders,
I sit, I hear the ticking of the clock,
Clock that measures time,
Minutes ticking by,
Minutes I am thinking,
Minutes I am getting older,
What about ME? What about ME!
Does anyone love me enough to stop and say,
What are your desires? Your Dreams?
It only stops, late at night,
The peace, the stillness,
The candles glow gives off soft light,
I write, not speak me, I write me,
Who I am, a part of me, my thoughts,my time,
Am I going crazy?
NO! I am being normal,
I am being human,
My mother carried me, gave me life,
I have a LIFE, a gift, a choice,
I have dreams, ideas, thoughts,
I am a being, a person,
I am ALIVE, ALIVE,
I am not everyone else,
I am not the same,
Who will hear me?
Who will understand?
Who will not judge or criticize?
But let me BREATHE,
life is to be lived,
I must live my life,

I must exhale...to BREATHE.

Wonderful deep insights and the answer comes, you are you and no one else!

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

"I must exhale...to BREATHE" How true
A beautiful piece of poetry you have done, I almost forgot to breathe

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Held my breath all the way through this, it is wonderful...so many of the same questions I've asked so often.  Beautiful work.  Bonnie

Many Truths, many questions, many answers, many answers that provide more questions that never seem to be answered. Your offering here is very good. It is very concise and thought provoking. Well done, Romantic Heart !

Peace,  Geoffrey
