Unobtainable Heart

Her words
off silvery tongue
and partner with your imagination
     luring you
into a seductive trance.

She captures you
in breathless heats
     of passion
fashioned into syllables and rhyme
      enflaming your desires
as she, the never ending temptress,
strews lines
you are unable to cross.

She consecrates
with the dignity of words
that linger like
     the metallic scent of perfume
long after you’ve finished

The hopeless romantic,
she weaves gossamer threads
     of letters
into webs of poetry
entrapping you
in quick sliver moments
     that fleet
before your eyes
leaving you hypnotized
by the fluid rhythm
     of her work.

But on her greatest days,
she stands,
before you
and offers up something
     she will never give.

To love means never to be afraid of the windstorms of life: should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings. ~Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Lady Hoot... not quite sure what to say about this one... a strong emotional impact that kind of leaves one stunned... empty... like a kid in the candy store without a nickle... only much much deeper.  Powerful writing. Peace to you.

I think I dated her and all her sisters in High School.

Seriously though.. very very good imagery.
Brilliantly done. I really like it a lot

Thank you everyone...although this ranks amoung one of my favorites of my poetry, it does in no way relate to how I feel now. It's nice to post from time to time though and I miss you all

Unobtainable Heart...hummm.....I'd say a woman who's been hurt and decides to hurt back...maybe?    Amazing images you paint of her. Very good writing! I've been involved with the same type of very complex women and I don't know wether I feel sorry for them or me...take is in.

Good Imagery.. hmm, I like the way you set out the poem.. Hoot. very innovative and yet having such a big impact.. A woman's way of expressing love. very appreciable.. I will give you a vote
