When I look in the mirror
I see a stranger-
The reflection smiles back at me,
With an air of confidence,
A touch of arrogance.
Someone unruffled by daily cares
and stress.
Is this the me that others see?
Does the woman in the mirror
Feel pain and loss and sadness,
As I do?
Does she cry, as well as Laugh?
Does she feel the pain of others?
Do people see the real me?
Do I let them?

That last line is the real question...."do I let them"....often wondered the same things myself looking in the mirror. Great idea and an equally great poem....thanks for sharing.
Got my vote for sure!

LT - Wonderful poem, isn't it funny how we see that reflection in the mirror, and often wonder who it is we are looking at and what or who others see.  "Do I let them?"  I hope so.  Bonnie

hmmm very interesting idea here.  how often do we actually let someone see the real version of ourselves?  good job presenting a very interesting idea.

LTiuch~
I'm drawn to 'reflections' ...
with a tendency to try to be
as honest with the reflection
as I am with myself.

My great grandmother taught me the daily
ritual of 'reflecting' at a very early age.
I've never forgotten it ... and I still look
deeply into the reflections of who I am.

Glad to have you share this piece.
Thank you.

You raise some interesting, introspective questions. Very well done. Wish I knew the answers.

Thanks,

You have really blessed me with this poem. I was actually looking in the mirror last night and wondering the same things that you mentioned in your poem. Thank you for sharing it!!!!  )
Keep up the great work.
