BREATHE i listened as your voice faded to silence. then through the air i could hear you breathe, soft and rythmic in my ear. i closed my eyes and i could almost feel your soft breath on my skin. i could feel the warmth of your body next to mine. i wanted to reach for you to touch your face, your lips. i wanted to hold your hand in mine. i listened as i willed myself to open my eyes... pressing the reciever closer to my ear, i sighed--a quiet sigh. maybe soon you'll be near enough to touch... until then, i listen-- i dont want to miss a breath... --dgvarner "i speak in written word--my lips, no sound may utter..." dgvarner |
