It was an ordinary day Children were fighting Husband was snarling Coffee cold and breakfast late See them off from the garden gate Come inside and tidy up Krissy's schoolbook, hubby's cup Clean the mirrors, wash the floor Talk to walls and hope for more It was an ordinary day It was an ordinary smile Birds were singing My heart was ringing Sunshine hot and sky so blue As I smile and remember you Come inside back to my home Forget that all they do is moan Smile at the telly, laugh at the door Knowing you gives me more It was an ordinary smile |

Hi, liked your poem. Appreciate the lightheartedness of it. Like your style, the "telly" made me look to see where you were from, and I guessed right England. I would love to see more of your writing. I like the English twist on things. |

Marsha~ This was an interesting read to me. I was caught with the idea of - 'It was an ordinary smile' .... When a smile given from another ends up on my face ... It causes me to realize the power of a smile. I enjoyed this. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I felt very happy when I read this. Need a little of that. It's very cute and has my vote, but I couldn't ! Can you fix that ? If you can, I'll be back Peace, Geoffrey |
