(due to peer pressure I have decided to submit a few other poems for your consideration thanks doreen *wink* LOL) kneeling she lays a single white rose upon a stone washed clean by her tears her voice frail and broken as she speaks of the children and grandchildren with loving words she reminds him it's almost time for a new roof winter is coming soon tho' it's still spring in her heart he's been gone ten years yet the depth of their love spans time, and life, and death her fingers trace the stone's etching she knows every contour, every letter as a solitary tears slips down her wrinkled cheek she rises with a weary smile "It was nothing darling, only the wind." for she'd never let him know life was death without him there to wrap her in his tender embrace she reaches down to rest her hand on his stone "I love you, forever." a workman walking near the grave comes close to see a bright glint in an otherwise dreary day and there resting in a pool of light as beautiful as an angel lay an old woman her hand resting on a headstone a smile on her face for her soul had finally gone home "Our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything." --William Shakespeare |

Heather, this is incredibly moving. Love never dies, it yearns to be reunited with the one who shared in ways that no one else had. I just want to say that I believe that it is the quality of your Love that counts, not the quantity of years. When someone moves into that place within you that only has room for one, the place that has been touched in ways beyond words, how do you measure that, how do you ever feel complete without your One ? Thank you for sharing this. You have my vote. Peace, Geoffrey |

Along with the others here, I too have tears. That was so beautiful. To be in love like that would be heaven. hugs & a vote, Heather< !signature--> Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no wonderful memeries to cherish. With love it brings hurts and with hurts it brings bittersweet memories [This message has been edited by Heather Miller (edited 07-27-2000).] |
