Till Stars Grow Old
   (Love Sonnet)

Love me, today, for now I breathe and live,
And young though hardly without pain or ache;
I’ve waited, and for you this heart I give,
Who knows of morn, my breath this Earth may take?
In you the song of life is new to sing,
But know that life may run to moment's end,
And without bliss, that at your door does ring,
A sad refrain will bleed this lover's pen;
And I may leave this life a hollowed soul,
Denied your kiss, from lips of heavens bliss;
So dust may be this lover’s final toll,
An empty heart that I would never miss;
  But true to you am I till stars grow old,
  To hear your vow before my blood goes cold.

James Parker Haley (c)June 2000.

Im so glad you posted this P-man...
it is SO beautifully worded and written
and the fact that your first attempt at
a sonnet was so awesome ...
makes it even more of gem.

For your first Sonnet, I think you did a fantastick job.  I like it not because of the structure of it, but because you added your feeling and that special touch that only you have with everything you write.

OK.....I am starting to make myself sick here....I'm gone before someone recgonizes me! LOL
