she wilts, Her once vibrant light shines no more, The sweet colours of her petals bleed slowly from her, The last shimmer of life dully ebbs to the cold floor, And with wounds left unhealed by the breadth of endless time, Her frail, broken body finally crumbles beneath her, Falling rapidly through the abyss of slow beating pain, To the rotting undergrowth where strong roots of hope once were, And like a loving mother calling her sweet child to come home, The dank, wet earth wraps itself around her dying soul, She takes comfort in the cold and dark of nothingness, Where nothing and noone exist anymore. Wow J, I remember this one! very beautiful indeed! Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive, my body goes on, my spirit has died, and I though alive, feel dead inside. "Rose Petal" |
