Poetry's a marvelous Craft, With a language all it's own, And rules so many and varied, It is doubtful all could be known! The Iambic Pentameter, Commonly used in English verse, Is a five-foot metrical line, Used in sonnets, oft then rehearsed. Alliteration strictly speaking, Is a device used for the Sound, When used aptly with repetition, The poems verbiage will astound! Imagery prods the imagination, To look at things in a new light, The representation of one thing, By another, oft brings delight! Now with Onomatopoeia, We might hear a rum-pum-pum-pum, With these rich descriptive sounds, We can readily picture a drum. Writing a successful poem, Is like weaving a fine Tapestry, The words blend in rhyme and tempo, Then lay proud for the world to see. I'm learning as I go forward, With every poem that I draft, I strive for constant improvement, As I use the tools of "the Craft". |

Maybe you should retitle this Passions, it is the epitomy of what most of us are here for... chalk up a vote! Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. JP "Everything is your own damn fault, if you are any good." E. Hemmingway |

Dennis, a wonderful poem you are doing well in perfecting you craft. Really enjoyed the poem. It would be perfect in the book. "but for the lovers, their arms Round the griefs of the ages, Who pay no praise or wages Nor heed my craft or art" Dylan Thomas. |
