In my heart there's a big cluttered attic,
Holding treasures of every kind,
Hiding precious memories,
That are never too hard to find.
Sometimes they get covered with dust,
Or forgotten inside an old chest,
Perhaps they've been buried for many years,
But they always survive time's test.
When I take the rusty, bent skeleton key
And unlock that huge, aged door,
The family and friends of yesterday,
Come back into my life once more.
They help clear the lacy cobwebs,
And polish the tarnished brass,
Wiping away the layers of dirt,
From the cloudy looking glass.
The dressmakers form in the corner,
Comes to life in the blink of an eye,
As moths filter out of the pockets,
Of a jacket from days gone by.
It may not appeal to many,
This place where I reminisce,
But to me it's a old-time paradise,
Going back to those days that I miss.

BSC...This gets my vote.

You said...
~It may not appeal to many,
This place where I reminisce,
But to me it's a old-time paradise,
Going back to those days that I miss~

It is the same place that I
reminisce too!
Thanks for bringing back
the memories!!
Great writing!

You must have just cleaned your attic and it took you back to yesterday.  Guess I should clean mine, I wonder if similar memories would come rushing back.  Very nice

I love old memories, dusty attics, odd treasures of eras past.
Nice one
