The Map I walked into that first marriage as if it was a road that would take me oh, take me to myself I guess. Such a windy road it was and very treacherous at times, there were no signs to tell me direction so I stopped at each beauty seeing a kind word here and a touch just right there but most of the time I was just lost. There were angry rivers and storms bright dart and sometimes I wallowed in a stream called lethargy that trapped me in its bogged dark and sinister hold and it was hard to get out no one helped I had to just put all my pieces together and find some strength that was always there and pull So I looked around at the cave I had dwelt in with all the monsters cozy and curled on my turmoil and I just walked out and kept on going and the sun fell that day into the ocean that had curled and spread answers on my toes and I saw my footprints in the sand and that’s when I found the map. Ah, the map! Martie! I hear you! I found the map too, and that is why I am so happy today. You word things so well, and you seem to be a never-ending font of poetry - you astound me with your muses! With great admiration I thank you for sharing! The spiritual wind that holds survivors aloft, plants the seeds from which bloom new hope ... R.J.G. |

Your map shows your strength within yourself.. I am glad you turned to the right person finally to get direction and besides....who better to know? I love it and you knew I would and once again your imagery is superb. ![]() ![]() |

Martie~ Never surprised by the words I find folded into the map of you ... and you drew the lines so well. 'and the sun fell that day into the ocean that had curled and spread answers on my toes and I saw my footprints in the sand and that’s when I found the map.' I think that being able to read the map makes you a wise navigator ! ![]() Love ya' ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Incredible Martie! This is just beautifully woven. I loved the imagery this brought to my mind, so I'll have to leave you with this smiling thought ... why is it that men just don't seem to be able to ask for directions? Even when I've got the map, and I'm the designated navigator, my guy just doesn't listen! ![]() This was truly beautiful sentiments Martie .... very much enjoyed! ![]() Best wishes, /Kit [This message has been edited by Kit McCallum (edited 08-11-2000).] |

Sounds like we've had similar pasts. The hardest step was that first one, wasn't it? Excellent expression, Martie. Denise |

Reminds me of the moment when you finally realize that perhaps you are in the wrong place...you have made a mistake somehow...and correction is in order... from that moment forward the way you look at the situation is always different...and leaving becomes a possibility waiting for the opportunities...James |

(dont answer that) *smile* well you already know you have written me in this... theres so much I could say...but you already know what it would be too... sometimes I just look out the window and wonder when did I get to lost in my own skin ... so content in my discontent ... *sigh*(of complacentcy) did I ever tell you ... I have NEVER seen an ocean ... never walked on a beach... me thinks you already knew that too ... thank you for the things this poem makes me think of ... hope all is well in your garden my sweet friend... still tending to mine... much weeding to do ... and its just so damn hot right now but the Sun Flowers are blooming again ![]() love ya me |
