The Last Sunrise

In darkened waste it now remains
Forgotten like a drop of rain
Sitting on a memory shelf
Alone and sadden by its self

It comes to call with out request
Like a stain that lands upon the vest
And marks the spot it once upheld
Night filled with fire, straight from hell

As birds flew out of shadowed tree’s
I can feel the coldness from the breeze
That chill that drew me in your arms
A sight that seems to linger on

Hidden deep with in my soul
Flooded vision takes control
As I fight its entrance with all my might
I cannot alter from this sight
When fire burn the last of night

In the distance I see it rage
As it danced for us upon the stage
Its flames blending into the sky
In the still of a quiet lullaby

As gull’s sang out the song of blue
The fire lifted in wake of new
Into the sky its flames set free
And all that was; were you and me

Or so I thought when I was young
Back before my life begun
That when you held me by your side
We would greet each new tide

Now it comes with out request
Like that spot that lands upon the vest
And fill’s my mind a blue venue
Of the last sunrise spent with you
