The Silence Speaks

I lay here cradling your head in my lap
Seaching each line of your face, as it maps
The past of your worries, from brow furrowed deep
To the smile on your lips, that is broadened in sleep.

The silence speaks quietly, with never a word
As the wind is my whisper of calm, when it's heard
Through the kiss of your lips, of tender display
Ignited are feelings, when loving this way.

The power of kissing, this song in my heart
Although silent, it travels by lips slight apart.
Every movement of you, whether sleep or awake
I absorb with my body, breathing you, I intake.

In the light of the day, or the darkness of night
Held in my arms, away goes the fright
Of each new day, tomorrows, unknowns yet to be
As eyes trace expressions released, silently.

When we touch, you're my song, sweet the sound, so serene
Viewing colorful rainbows, hues of reds, blues and greens
The road laid before us, not a twist, straight ahead
As we drift off, I'm holding, my dreams to be led.

Sudhir

thank you...I  was searching for one of my favorites...when I write them I dont even remember them  til I have reread  them  on and off  for a few weeks...it's funny but I dont think about my poems much when writing ..even the rhyming...it's the mood I am in..only when challenged do I have to study the form or pattern...how  do you write yours?  maybe  they discuss this somewhere on here..I am always curious when  others say they have writers block or  are struggling..I am waiting for that to happen and it's been 18 months now and I get no relief..unless sleeping

OK Maureen, just one after the other, and one as great as the other! As before, a talent there is, a talent now, and a talent there will ever be.

Very soft and sensual.  Beautiful poem that is well written.  As I read the poem, I could feel the silence and the words came from your heart.  Always a pleasure reading your work.

This had a softness and read as if being spoken to, THAT is the sign of a fine poem.
