Night was slowly dawning The fool upon the hill Was rent and cast in mourning You could here his crying still The dew in silver cover Lay soft upon the grave He wept and sought his lover But no one here could save His prayers were slowly drifting Into the heavenly rack He felt his senses shifting An answer floating back ……………………………… ‘Why do you seek the mystery Of a road that twists and turns why do you seek the ashes in that which never burns?’ ‘Why do you cry such tears that are lost unto the sea why do you seek to cut the roots that feed the tree?’ ‘Why do you want to see the stars fall from the sky Why do you want to feel the pain but never cry?’ ‘Why do you want to love And walk on golden sand Why must you always shun The wrinkles in your hand?’ ‘The answer to your sorrow now lies upon the shore the wisdom of tomorrow will open longings door’ …………………………….. He arose from his sad sighing And breathed in deep relief He quietened all his crying Put his doubt back in its sheath The moons silk tears were falling With her maidens twinkling sighs He could hear his lover calling From the mirror of the skies The heart goes on forever And feelings never wane But it’s not wrong to question To help you with your pain And now the fool rejoices For his time spent on that hill He has so many choices But the moon is crying still! oh Jon, I liked the two persons thoughts here. Well done-great. Wisdom filled for within your words the answers are found; life does go on, still; So beautiful and rich. Marcy "Why do you cry such tears that are lost unto the sea why do you seek to cut the roots that feed the tree?" |

This is really a wonderful piece, Jon... I enjoyed reading it immensely - and it's headed to the pub as you asked..... |
