My Total Heart

My thoughts carry me
to another place and time.
When Love was so new,
exciting and challenging.
Wondering if it was him.
Would he be the one
who held the key.
to unlock my total heart.

I reflect of the past.
Loves that I had,
Loves that I lost.
Sharing almost all
but I held back.
Afraid to give.
None held the key
to unlock my total heart.

Why am I so afraid,
Unwilling to give
my total self to anyone?
And then you came along.
A man without a face
but who shared his soul.
Do you hold the key?
To unlock my total heart.

So I begin a new journey.
I step closer to you.
I find myself letting go.
My walls come tumbling down.
My soul sails to new heights.
You have reached out
Holding a key
To unlock my total heart.

Some of us get hurt so bad and we end up being so gaurded and it takes a lot to free up the heart again...You have described this very well here...well written presentation..
Thoroughly enjoyed the read.
