lapis lazuli ... mankind's birth nearly killed its mother so painful, its secret still hidden buried deep in barren desert lands the unEarth still guesses at its own origin away tongues rot in dust-stormed skulls their silence revered as eternal life our commencement for none to attend quiet's escape quickened again the dig, so deep -- so real finding a start to the script a Sumarian wheel rolls truest for young poets of Mesopotamia yet their epics hold no water their broken urns, buried alive with slaves who know all truth -- who knew their mother's milk adorned in gold spotted lapis lazuli wings spread for all to worship a god(dess) in unHuman attire borne of the amazing mind of mankind the protector and provider sage, seer and soothsayer not to foretell of its arid end as antiquity's lies haunt us still deep generations of man's kind builder -- destroyer -- rebuilder one day, father the master builder next day, son the bone digger i'll hold my blue stones up high rub the gold specks against the sun find truth within my cleavaged heart and adorn wings of lapis lazuli M.A. Miller 08.09.00 < !signature--> My calling before me, let quill be my offering; For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive. Then, MA, does that mean I'm wierd to have seen and felt so much from this piece? I envisioned things remarkable, and truly admire your way with words. When you write like this, never doubt for a minute that you shouldn't share it with all of us. Thank you! Karilea When you want to be loved, look within...KRJ |

Mark...not make sense? When I can feel the hot desert wind and see the eyes of the gods boring into me? Who cares what makes sense if it can evoke feelings such as these? |

I have to laugh at your previous comment...y'see...I had been pondering a poem along this same line--loved it, Mr. Miller... (Curses! Foiled Again! ha ha, guess it's on to the Crazy Lace Agate poem...) |

You've excavated an amazing scene with this treasure. ![]() ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
