Piracy through Poetry I could use fancy actor’s lines That comes from a Thesaurus or Dictionary And keep my rhymes plainly simple So as not to make you wary I can compose something about myself Though not revealing the true me You will never really know the difference And THAT, is the beauty you see I may pen my emotions Be them phony or concrete Everything is in my hands I could be obvious or discreet Or do I speak only from heart And pen what is truly exact Simple piracy through poetry Is it scruples or fact? Marina, this is excellent!! You've really hit the nail on the head. . . our poetry reveals as much (or as little) as we want others to see... Well done... ----------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Marina, Poets as anybody else show what they wish to... whether themselves or their near and dear... or just the world... its only when people feel with them on an issue does the poet's work becomes appreciated... and I feel with you on these questions raised... regards, sudhir |

Wonderful Marina! Complex minds, writers of fiction or non-fiction, sometimes it's hard to tell, but ahhhh, that is the work of a good poet. Creative and wonderful thoughts Marina! Best wishes, /Kit |

Marina, said perfectly really enjoyed the poem. THough I think when we write a poem the emotions are real it just depends on how attached or detached are to the emotions. (how dear this could the start of a debate.) lol |

Very well done. And very true. Who are we? are we just a shadowy figure ina dark room staring at the computer screen for hours apon hours on end? Are we who we say we are? Are we telling the truth, or just playing mind games with each others emotions? Just an effigy to be disgraced, to be defaced. Your need for me has been replaced. |

Marina, This was well said. Nice writing and a great way to get your point across. I agree with you totally. You never know what the poetry is really about unless you know the poet personally. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Effigy, thank you very much. We think we know each other through our poetry, but do we?? LW, thanks you. I believe that is most likely true. Marina It is a blessing to have wings for words, and passion in pen Marina Crossley |

Marina looks like you've evoke lots of thoughts with this poem. I believe that poetry is exactly who we are...not necessarily a biography of our life...but an expression of every thing we are...including truth, fiction, hopes, dreams, fantasies, love we share and hurts we bare...James |

James, even just to post to someone's poem you have a way with words my friend. I think you may have a point there. I know when you write your poetry they come straight from your heart, and for that I thank you...... Marina It is a blessing to have wings for words, and passion in pen Marina Crossley |

Great work, liked this one a lot, it just goes to out line the complexity that can be in a poets head, I usualy find that the best ones come from the heart . L.of.L. Tom . Don't try, do or do not, there is no try . - Master Yoda - |

Marina, I disagree, I think poetry comes from the head and the heart and writing a poem doesn't necessariliy reveal anything about ourselves, but if we can portray an emotion that makes people think they know us then isn't that what a poet's supposed to do. Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Coco, thank you. I think there is a lot of perspevtives in here. Thanks again. Mark, thank you again, my friend. Always there..... Tom, thank you. You are right, the best poetry comes from the head and heart. Kethry, thank you. You are right. Poetry can be whatever we decide to tell others about us.
