By Rippled POnd In the glades ‘mongst willow trees By misty pond of memories I sit and ponder mysteries Of a love that used to be Sound of thrush and wren and swallow In the rushes of the hollow In his footsteps I would follow To the place where he would be On the banks of rippled pond Of mind and soul the two would bond So mesmerized was I and fond Of everything he said to me So deep his thoughts, so deep phantasms Deep as waters murky plasm In the deepness of mind’s chasm Wondrous questions came to be Our minds would dance in perfect rhythm Just as shimmering rainbow prism Danced across the culture schism In this world of him and me The quiet hush among the rushes Draws the cheeks to crimson flushes Haunting me as water gushes O’er the dam and falling free It was here that he was found In waters deep by grassy ground By rippled pond the world is bound In mind and soul to him and me I stare into the water’s glaze And there I see his gentle face A rippled mind too out of place Except when he was here with me My heart will never care to wander Here I sit alone and ponder Evermore to sadly wonder As the swallows sing to me Elizabeth Santos |

WOW, Liz, this is amazing... WONDERFUL WORK.... geez, I gotta get my thesaurus back... ![]() regards, sudhir. P.S. if I remember well, you had seen this rhyme scheme in one of the poems around and commented that you should try this too... and if I remember too well, it was one of Marge's poem... anyway this rhyme scheme a-a-a-b is great... but then coming from your quill, what isnt'? if I am wrong, I can remember who to blame it... my memory ![]() |

Elizabeth, my friend~ Such lovely ripples memories make Undulating across the lake Until on other shores they quake Finding their way to another's heart. You've so much talent to share, dearest poet. This is lovely. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

You seem to just write more beautifully with every stroke from your pen! This is just stunning Liz! Our minds would dance in perfect rhythm Just as shimmering rainbow prism Danced across the culture schism In this world of him and me Applause!!! ~HUGS~ my dear lady! <*\\\>< The will of God will never lead you, where the grace of God cannot keep you. |

Elizabeth this work is so deep and passionate as so many of yours are. Your reflections are so pure and poignant. It's as if one is really there inside the scene as a participant or observer and when you present imperfect vulnerable humanity in retrospect you do so with such style. God bless you for your talent and willingness to share. Take care ethome |

Liz--this is lovely! I was enthralled by the sound of this one... So deep his thoughts, so deep phantasms Deep as waters murky plasm In the deepness of mind’s chasm Wondrous questions came to be wonderful to read out loud...vivid imagery....I loved it! |
