Embarked upon a placid sail Light zephyrs the jib fills Smoothly cutting the water Sky blue, breeze warm, feeling thrills The wind rises, we tack across it Its whistle sings, sail edges flap We lean, take splash o'er the gunnels And know it's no time for a nap Holding the tiller, watching the sea Racing the storm home, stroking the beam The horizon darkens to white caps glee Lights on the shore now, slicing the cream Waves rising higher, we feel the hull slap Spray flying , we're bouncing, splash colding A big one, spear through it, drop with a bang Wind dropped, sky clearing, bold holding Secure in the slip, sails lowered, secured Warm cabin is lighted, brandies are poured We barely taste them to the bunk we're lured Bound tightly together as if with strong cord In calm harbor suppressed passions raging Reenacting the storm its slow building And blow, we were mostly there in staging We cut our own waves, sent liquids flying Sunlight crept into our porthole a beam A spotlight upon us, the king and the queen Naked in majesty, cuddled like a dream Is anything ever just what it seems |

Sunny: It wasn't that BIG a storm ~G~ I was more interested in communicating the metaphor - Thank you for your thoughts - Once I was off Cape Hatteras in January on a troop ship - I found that 100 times more frightening Ethome The name offers some obscurity - I'll reveal more as I come to feel secure - So far Everyone has been wonderful. If It weren't for the Tunnel post yesterday - I might have posted this in Adult - Thank you for your kind words. |

Wilfred Yeats, A very descriptive poem of sailing on the sea. I could picture each detail, as I read it. I'm glad that I stopped by. |

I enjoyed your use of light rhyme and rhythm to create this fine, sensory~full poem. The recreation of the storm in lovemaking is very well done. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
