Golden spears of the sun rise before my eyes, The clinging dew on the grass is chased away, And here i sit with one wish- where in my heart it lies, To be rich,to be famous,or beauty unceasingly to stay, It's my choice, and my choice alone, Averting my eyes to the sun,and in my softest tone, I make my wish and hold it dear, The pounding of my very heart; all i can hear. And,so,each day i wait for my one wish to come true, Which day the magick will work, i have no clue, Sunrise after sunrise i expectantly wait, My desire and fear both equally great, I wait for you to come-with a curve to your lips, I listen for your melodic voice-my heart,it flips, I look for your midnight blue eyes with love cast anew, But hence the sixth day rolls by,i suddenly knew. My foolishly craved wish was used and wasted, I wished for you to love me,but love cannot be forced, your lips-for me-will never be tasted, Nor your sweet voice carry that endearing tone, And never will your eyes-with love-be shown, It was love i wished for and in you i wanted it, But all that lies where our love should be is a bottom-less pit, And within it a lie floating upon a dream. I drop your red rose to the ground, With it a single tear escapes and falls without a sound, I close my eyes and whisper to you, With all my dreams, and hopes, doomed never to come true, I whisper to you with a shattered heart, I have wasted my one wish on you-foolish from the start, But though i knew it so,my hopeful feelings hid it, You will never love me-even if i wish it. |
